About Goth Panda

I always read the About sections on websites, but I am finding it hard to write one of my own.

My name is Victoria. I am officially in my mid-thirties. I live with my boyfriend Mike in a streetcar town in South Jersey and I commute into Philadelphia for my job. We don’t have any children or pets, so you won’t see anything about those things here.

In my spare time, I work on my dissertation. In my fun spare time, I read things that have nothing to do with my dissertation, cook and bake, take photos, spend money on cooking/baking/photography supplies, and travel around our area looking for other fun things to do.

If you are wondering about the name of this site, Goth Panda is the name of our band on Rock Band.

What has become your favorite cookbook? I am looking for a new one! Your brother, emphasis on YOUR, is very boring to cook for anymore so I am going to push him to try new things! :-)
What about your favorite chef? I am loving William Sonoma and getting ready to go to Williamsburg where the outlet is. Tell me what new kitchen gadgets you seem to use the most when cooking.
    Love the website!

I use the internet more than anything, especially epicurious.com, cookinglight.com, recipezaar.com, foodnetwork.com, and cooksillustrated.com, along with some food blogs. I only have one general cookbook: Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything Vegetarian (there’s also just a plain How to Cook Everything, which includes meat recipes). Other than that, I have a lot of baking cookbooks, but that’s it.

I love W-S, too! I always get my American Express membership rewards in the form of Williams-Sonoma gift cards. I have too many cooking gadgets, way more than are necessary. I’m not sure I could even pick a favorite.
