The plan for this roadtrip is to fly into Las Vegas, pick up a rental car, and take off for the National Parks, spending a day or two in each one. Then we make a loop back to Vegas and stay overnight there, flying out the next day. We are not including the Grand Canyon, since we have a separate plan to see that next year. Also, let’s be honest, this is probably too much to see as it is.
Zion National Park
Monument Valley (not a National Park, but included anyway)
Mesa Verde National Park

I am planning a trip to Paris in 2014. I have wanted to go to Paris since I started learning French in the seventh grade. Since I have never been there before, my list is full of all of the greatest hits – from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre to the Père Lachaise Cemetery. I’d also like to fit in a day trip to Versailles and one to Giverny. This might be another case of me trying to overschedule.
I have been to Hawaii, but Mike has not, so we have to get there again for it to count towards our plan to visit all fifty states. When I went the first time, we stayed in Waikiki. I had a great time, but we didn’t see any of the other islands. When we go back, I’d at least like to see Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island.

So the plan for Arizona, either next year or the year after, is to base in Flagstaff and do day trips. Mike and one of our friends want to hike the Grand Canyon for three or four days so I will be on my own for that time, but there is plenty that I want to see. I was invited to go on the hiking trip, but I object to camping. So I am going to get a nice hotel room with running water and do my sightseeing during the day.
Glacier National Park is also high up on my travel wishlist. An aside: A lot of things are high up on my wishlist. That’s partially the purpose of this Tumblr – to sort through all my ideas and plans and maybe organize them into something semi-coherent.
I was thinking about linking Glacier NP into a big roadtrip with the Canadian Rockies, but on the other hand there might not be enough time to do it all in one trip. So I am not sure where it fits in yet.
